Aaron Schumacher

As Director, International, Aaron is responsible for helping to grow FP‘s nation branding business and securing new clients in a variety of industries, such as technology, consumer goods, transportation, and more.

Aaron previously worked for Blue Star Strategies, a Washington-based consulting firm, where he facilitated the company’s business development activities and advised Latin American and European clients in the public and private sectors.  He also served as project supervisor in Nicaragua with Amigos de las Americas, a non-profit promoting youth leadership, community development, and cross-cultural exchange.  Aaron has held internships with the U.S. State Department in Washington and in Brazil, as well as with the National Democratic Institute.  Since 2012, he has served as Senior Vice President of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, and has also served on the Board of Directors of the Washington, DC chapter of Amigos de las Americas since 2011.  He is fluent in Spanish and also speaks Portuguese.

He has a Master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he helped build an accelerator for early-stage start-up companies — the first of its kind among graduate schools of international affairs. He completed his undergraduate studies at Tufts University.
